Michael “Mickey” James Ciaffaglione, age 54 of Monroe, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at the Michigan Medicine Hospital of Ann Arbor.

Born on August 30, 1970 in Lewiston, Maine. Mickey was the son of the late Joyce Ciaffaglione. Mickey graduated from the Monroe County Intermediate School District and was in their Workshop program.

Mickey was an all out rockstar. He loved listening and playing along with his favorite band: KISS. Mickey was a one-man band and would play the drums, guitar, and sing along with his chosen KISS tunes. Mickey enjoyed watching wrestling in his free time. Mickey also participated in the Special Olympics and while at his group home took part in their Summer Camp.

Mickey was a pure soul. Always friendly and never met a stranger. He was very sociably, knowing everyone around him as well as caring deeply about others. Mickey had a funny personality, he was always happy and his smile was very infectious.

Mickey will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is now with his mother in heaven, who he loved so much on earth. He is now free, running full speed and playing his music in paradise.

Beloved nephew of Nancy Housley and Debbie Ciaffaglione. Loving cousin of Ryan Housley, Ben Gordon, Brooklyn Housley, Kendall Housley, and Carmenita Housley.

Mickey was preceded in death by his mother Joyce Ciaffaglione and stepfather: Rick Wawryzniak.

In accordance with the family’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends and family are invited to a memorial gathering on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at the Harbor Group Home at 13795 Alton, Monroe, MI, 48161, from 1:00 until 4:00 pm.

The Ciaffaglione family would like to make a special thank you to his caregiver, Sherry Flemings and all the wonderful staff at the Harbor Group Home for their amazing care towards Mickey. In honor of Mickey, memorial donations are suggested to the Harbor Group Home of Monroe.
