July 28, 1984 – June 22, 2021

Mickey Lee Bacon, age 36 of Monroe, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at the ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital.

Born July 28, 1984, in Sacramento, California. Mickey went to Airport High School and eventually got his GED.  He first worked at Monroe Complete Auto Maintenance where he was a Mechanic there for about 15 years.  Mickey then went to work at the Lewis Avenue Automotive Repair in Temperance for the past two years.

Mickey met the love of his life: Erelene Runyon in 2003 in Monroe. They were happily together for over 18 wonderful years and raised two sons together. They were truly each other’s best friends. Together they enjoyed going up north to Harrison County, where they liked to go four-wheeling and ride go-karts. They liked watching movies and go riding on their motorcycle wherever they wanted.

In his free time, he liked to tinker on cars and computers. He shared a bond with his sons through gaming and teaching them how to build things.  He first learned with go-karts and then Mickey was going to teach him how to build his first car.  Fortunately, he did give him his first driving lessons while they were up north- a memory his son will always hold of his dad.

Mickey was a selfless person who would drop everything he was doing to help someone in need. He was very giving, humble, and a good-natured man. He was also known for his witty and sarcastic personality. Mickey’s family meant the world to him, and he will be deeply missed and cherished in the hearts of his loved ones.

Beloved husband of Erelene Runyon Bacon. Loving father of Chase Bacon and Gage Wilson. Dearest brother of Robert Bacon Jr. and Kelly Bacon.

In accordance with Mickeys wishes, cremation has taken place. Everyone is invited to a memorial gathering on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Rupp Funeral Home from 12:30 to 4:00 pm. A celebration of life service will take place at the end of the gathering on Thursday starting at 4:00 pm. Officiating is Rev. Larry Detruf.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mickey’s honor are suggested towards helping his son achieve that goal of building his first car. Please make donations out to Chase Bacon’s First Car fund. The family appreciates anything donated towards his son.
