Michele Sue Roberts, age 68 of Monroe, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2021 in her home surrounded by family.

Born April 8, 1952 in Monroe. Michele received her GED from Monroe Public Schools. She went on to work as a paraprofessional at Jefferson Schools for 29 years and a Group Home manager with Mastrofrancesco for 29 years. 

Michele met and married the love of her life, Mike, on January 5, 2001. They raised a family of three children and spent 35 wonderful years together.

Michele enjoyed going on trips to Raleigh, NC to visit her niece, Leslie, and family. She also enjoyed vacationing in the Outer Banks during the summers. Michele was an avid sports lover, especially football and baseball. You could always catch Michele with her beloved dogs, Marley and Molly, by the pool with her grandkids.

Beloved wife of Michael T. Pursley. Loving mother of Gary (Elysa) Roberts, Craig Roberts, and Paul (Julie) Roberts. Dearest grandmother of Garrett (Shyanne) Roberts, Kylie Roberts, Kellen Roberts, Jillian Roberts, and Aubrey Roberts. Aunt of Leslie (Michael) Thorne, Jack Thorne, and Sam Thorne.

Preceded in death by her sister, Diane Hannigan, and her mother-in-law, Ruth Pursley.

Everyone is invited to a visitation on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Rupp Funeral Home from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. A funeral service will take place at the end of viewing starting at 5:00 PM. Officiating is Deacon Mike Stewart. In accordance with Michele's wishes, cremation will conclude services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Michele are suggested to the Humane Society of Monroe County or the American Cancer Society.
