Michael Thomas Pursley, age 62 of Monroe, passed away the evening of Monday, May 3, 2021 at the ProMedica Regional Hospital of Monroe.

Born April 3, 1959 in Monroe. He was the son of the late William “Bill” and Ruth (Curson) Pursley. Mike graduated from Monroe High School. He loved playing on their football team and reminiscing those past times.

Mike met the love of this life: Michele Sue Roberts in 1987. They got married on January 5, 2001. They raised a family of three boys and spent over 35 years together, before Michele’s passing in February of 2021. Both Mike and Michele enjoyed traveling with one another and going to many baseball games.

Mike worked at Detroit Metro Airport as a general laborer until retiring.

Mike was a sports enthusiast. He especially loved watching and going to baseball and football games. He liked following on of his favorite players: Ken Griffey Jr. He would even go to Cincinnati to watch them play ball. He also liked to collect many sports trading cards in his spare time.

In Mikes free time, you could find in his garage that he converted into his personal gym. He enjoyed keeping in shape and lifting weights. Most importantly, Mike was a highly devoted husband to Michele and animal lover. He enjoyed watching his kids play and go swimming with his grandchildren.

Beloved father of Gary (Elysa) Roberts, Craig Roberts, and Paul (Julie) Roberts. Loving grandfather of Garrett (Shyanne) Roberts, Kylie Roberts, Kellan Roberts, Jillian Roberts, and Aubrey Roberts. Dear uncle of David, Patrick, and Thomas Pursley. Also survived by a sister-in-law: Maria Pursley.

In addition to his parents, Mike is preceded in death by his wife: Michele Roberts, and brothers: Patrick and Terry Pursley.
