Michael Robert "Poppa" Moss, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on August 25, 2025, in Monroe, Michigan, at the age of 55. Born on July 26, 1970, in Trenton, Michigan, Michael lived a life filled with laughter, love, and a deep dedication to those he held dear.

Michael was a proud graduate of Monroe High School, class of 1988. He shared twenty-seven years of life with Tracy (Dennis) Moss before their paths diverged in 2015. He devoted much of his professional life as a skilled machinist at American Rheinmetall, formerly Loc Performance, in Plymouth, Michigan. His work ethic and craftsmanship were admired by colleagues and friends alike.

A man of diverse interests, Michael found joy in singing karaoke and listening to a wide range of music. He had a passion for working on cars and creating beautiful pieces through woodworking. He was known for his generous spirit, always offering a helping hand to those in need. A man of deep faith, he loved God and was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor that brightened the lives of everyone around him.

Michael was an enthusiast for the majestic bald eagle and a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. His love for peanut butter was legendary; he would eat it on nearly everything and was particularly famous for his homemade peanut butter fudge.

He cherished his family above all, especially his grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life. Michael is survived by his two daughters, Keisha (Alex Lelo) Moss and Kayla Moss, both of Monroe. He also leaves behind three brothers: Randy (Mary) Moss, Marion (Karen) Raines, and Jeffery Moss; four sisters: Teresa Raines, Patty Kanales, Brenda (Tim) Casey, and Kelly (Dale) Wagner; and five adored grandchildren: Ja'Vari, Keaton, Aribelle, Kealyn, and Anthony.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Doria (Redmon) Moss, along with four sisters and one brother.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Rupp Funeral Home, located at 2345 S. Custer Road, Monroe, MI 48161. Services celebrating Michael's life will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, beginning at 11 a.m., also at Rupp Funeral Home. In accordance with his wishes, cremation will follow.

In honor of Michael's life, memorial contributions may be made to the Hearing Loss Association of America or the American Cancer Society.

Michael Robert Moss will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and the love he gave unconditionally. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and devotion that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
