Michael Robert Miller, 70, of Monroe, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, in his home with his loving family by his side after a two-year battle with squamous cell carcinoma.
Son of the late Jeanette A. Miller (Gilmore), and Herbert E. Miller, he was born February 6, 1954, in Monroe. He graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1972. Michael earned a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Michigan, graduating in 1976.
Michael married Nancy Steffes on April 24, 1982, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monroe. He worked his entire career at National Galvanizing and worked hard to put his four children through college. There was so much more to him than just dad, though to us that was his greatest role - he was also a friend, coworker and colleague, cousin, brother, handyman, writer, U of M's biggest fan, the family rock, the list goes on and on.
