Melvin Stininger
August 1, 1928 – January 3, 2021
Melvin Stininger, age 92 of Rockmart, GA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Cedar Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Born on August 1, 1928, he was the son of late Earl and Luella Stininger. Melvin was a World War II Veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked hard and spent the rest of his career in road construction. As a hobby, he enjoyed raising beef cattle and loved seeing all of his grandchildren.
Beloved husband of Barbara (Goodale) Stininger. Loving father of David Stininger of Monroe, MI, Melanie Counterman of Luna Pier, MI, William (Renee) Stininger of Meadville, PA, Charles (Kim) Stininger of Seminole, FL, Tina (Dan) Kritikos of Guys Mills, PA, and Stanley Stininger of Soddy Daisy, TN. Grandfather of fifteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and fourteen great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by his identical twin brother and two other brothers, two sisters, and one son.
The family will be receiving guests on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Rupp Funeral Home in Monroe, MI from 12:00 to 2:00 pm. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 pm. Burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle, MI.
