Maureen A. Romanowski passed away on Thursday, January 23rd, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born January 17, 1963, she was the youngest of five children born to the late Robert McMullen and Mary (Willaert).
For 22 years, Maureen worked as an administrative assistant for Comcast, where she made many lifelong friends and met her future husband, Mike Romanowski. They were married at St. Stephen's Catholic Church on July 2, 2005. Together, they raised their family, which included Mike’s son, Michael Romanowski (Haley) II, and Maureen’s daughters, Kari and Karla McMullen.
Maureen had a love for travel and was fortunate to experience many meaningful vacations. One memorable trip took her overseas to Ireland, England, Belgium, Paris, and Lourdes. She also enjoyed a Middle East tour, a trip to the Holy Land in Israel, and visits to Hawaii.
After retiring, Maureen treasured spending as much time as possible with her two beloved grandchildren, Madeline and Benjamin. She delighted in making them smile by playing dress-up, going on golf cart rides, traveling, and allowing them to do whatever they wanted.
For relaxation, Maureen enjoyed a variety of music, reading, long drives, and going above and beyond to help her family with anything. She was also well known for laughing and causing trouble at the most unexpected times.
Maureen is survived by her siblings, Karen Waller, Mike (Nadine) McMullen, Jeanne Chapel, and Pat (Maria) McMullen; grandchildren, Madeline and Benjamin Ferdin; and her Aunt Mariette Bernard.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Henry Ford Hospice for the compassionate care Maureen received over the past several months, as well as to all those who provided love and support during this difficult time.
