Mathew Todd McNeil, age 47 of Monroe, passed away peacefully at home with his father by his side on Friday, October 20, 2023.

Born October 24, 1975, in Monroe. He is the son of Gary McNeil Sr. and the late Delores (Harmon) McNeil. Matt graduated from Emmet Intermediate School District in Charlevoix in 2002.

Matt absolutely loved watching WWE Pro-Wrestling his whole life. He grew up watching Hulk Hogan and Macho Man Randy Savage. Matt played drums for the Plum Creek Boys Band as well as making many guest appearances for the Band 12th n Bakin. He also liked to do puzzles, go on the computer to listen to music and play games.

Matt never met a stranger and never forgot faces or names. Always the life of the party, he would bust out a song and dance routine or put on a wrestling show. He was an entertainer and a lover of life and family. Matt will be deeply missed and cherished in the hearts of his loved ones.

Beloved son of Gary McNeil Sr. Loving brother of Richard (Marie) McNeil, Gary (Jennifer) McNeil Jr., Brian (Lori) McNeil, Mike (Missy) McNeil, Jason McNeil, and Kristie (Rene) Boring. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews as well as many many friends and extended family.

Mathew was preceded in death by mother: Delores McNeil; Stepmother: Rita McNeil; sister: Brandie McNeil; and nephew: Richard “Chopper” McNeil, Jr.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Rupp Funeral Home from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at 2:00 pm on Friday. Officiating is Rev. BJ McDaniel. Burial will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
