Mary Ann V. Soleau

Mary Ann Veronica Soleau, age 88 of Monroe, passed away on June 16, 2022 at Hospice of NW Ohio. She had been in declining health for the past year.

She was born on October 13, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan to Clarence and Veronica (Britz) Beauvais. They spent three years there until moving to Milford, Michigan where she spent her formative years. When she was 17 the family was in the process of moving to Monroe. So, Mary Ann commuted every week to St. Mary Academy where she spent her senior year and graduated in 1952. She then worked in the office at Ford Motor Company for a few years after high school.

Mary Ann met her husband, Ralph Soleau, and they were married in April 1954. They spent over 57 years together before his passing in 2011. That union produced seven children.

She was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Her family was her whole world. She had a passion for cooking. She loved family gatherings. Mary Ann also loved to travel and they took many wonderful trips together. Her happiest moments in life were her wedding and the birth of her children.

To cherish her memory, Mary Ann leaves her children: Christine (Richard) Gross, Robert (Deb) Soleau, Timothy Soleau, Annette (Brian) Young, Paul Soleau, Jeanne Soleau, and Mark (David Kosanovic) Soleau; grandchildren: Kristin (Rich) Chmiel, Dan (Jodi) Gross, Brian Gross, Laura Sergent, Brad (Shana) Waybright, Lindsey (Earl) Wise, Eric Dines, Michael Dines, Danielle Young, Ben Young, and Brian Young II; 9 great grandchildren; and sisters: Joan Toth, Jeanette Mlynek, and Joyce Schumaker.

In addition to her parents, Mary Ann is preceded in death by her husband Ralph, brother Peter Beauvais, and sister Suzanne Beechler.

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Rupp Funeral Home from 2:00 to 8:00 pm, with family sharing starting at 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. Mary Ann will lie instate at 10:00 am with a mass beginning at 11:00 am. Officiating is Fr. Kishore Babu Battu. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Memorial donations in honor of Mary Ann are suggested to the Oaks of Righteousness in Monroe.
