February 6, 1942 – September 6, 2020

Mary Lou Ewert, age 78 of Monroe, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at home under hospice care.

Born February 6, 1942 in Detroit, from the union of the late George and Helen (Kelly) Emmendorfer. She was one of three children. Mary went to St. Dominican High School in Detroit.

Later on, she met the love of her life, Ronald Ewert. They got married on February 22, 1958 in Grosse Pointe, MI. They raised a family of seven children and spent over 62 wonderful years together.

Mary was a Christian woman who devoted her life to God. She was a long-time member at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Monroe. In her free time, you could find Mary outside soaking in the sun. She enjoyed going on vacation, especially the beach where she could sunbathe all day. Mary also liked to play Bingo for fun.

Most importantly, Mary loved spending quality time with her family. She had a huge heart and would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Mary will be deeply missed and cherished in the hearts of her loved ones.

Beloved wife of Ronald Ewert. Loving mother of Harry Ewert of Monroe, Eric (Stacy) Ewert of Columbus, OH, Brent Ewert of Monroe, Lori (Dr. John) Black of Monroe, Kimberly (Richard) Ewert-Thomas of Monroe, Sheila (Loren)  Benes of Monroe and Rebecca (Sam) Lucio of Monroe. Dearest grandmother of 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Nancy (Alexander) Varchetti of Sterling Heights, MI. Also survived by a sister in law: Mary Emmendorfer.
