Mark Owen Eason
September 21, 1949 – December 28, 2025
Mark Eason, age 76 of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Hampton Manor in Dundee.
Born September 21, 1949, in Toledo, Ohio, he was the son of the late Ernest and Shirley (Myers) Eason. Mark was a 1967 graduate of Rogers High School and earned his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Toledo in 1972.
Mark married Shari O’Brien in 1971 and together they had a son, David. In 1981, Mark married Patricia Rousselo. Mark devoted more than 50 years to his career as a pharmacist, serving patients at Professional Village Pharmacy and Carleton Pharmacy.
Mark was a dedicated volunteer, receiving the Healthy Futures Award for Transportation in 2019 through the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). He was named Volunteer of the Year in 2020 by the Monroe Center for Healthy Aging and was proud of his service at the River Raisin National Battlefield Park. He also served on the University of Toledo College of Pharmacy Alumni Board. He was a Cub Scout Den Leader for Troop 519 and later stepped up to be Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts. He enjoyed golfing and bowling, traveling and trips to casinos, and, most of all, spending time with his family and his beloved dog, Max. Known for his quick wit, kindness, and silly voices, Mark will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Beloved father of David (Amy) Eason, Taylor (Brandon) Goebel, and Steven (Ericka) Eason. Grandfather of David (Joselyn) Eason II, Patrick (Jamie) Eason, and Lily Goebel. Great grandfather of David, Maddie, Maya, Masyn, and Archer.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Glen.
Family and friends may visit on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Rupp Funeral Home from 1:00 until 7:00 pm. A Memorial service in his honor will take place at 7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family toward the dedication of a bench and plaque at Sterling State Park.
