Lois A. Baker

July 3, 1940 – November 27, 2023

Lois Angeline Baker, age 83 and lifelong resident of Monroe, passed away peacefully at 4:41 p.m. November 27, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Born July 3, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Antionette (Modica) Stout. Lois married the late Gerald E. Baker in 1981; sadly, he preceded her in death in 2019. Lois was loving, funny and outspoken. She enjoyed spending time with friends and especially family, having “special nicknames” for almost everyone. Lois cherished time spent playing Bingo and Yahtzee as well as cooking her famous spaghetti, stuffing and hamburgers.

To cherish her memory, Lois leaves two children, Laura Jean Janisse and Rodney (Kimberly Kersigo) Stout ; one brother, Sonny (Debbie) Raymond; three grandchildren: Angelina (Johnny) Beesley, Terry Bloomfield, and Joseph Stout; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Austin and Patricia Hill; a brother, Richard Stout.

Family and friends may visit on Sunday, December 3, 2023 from 1-8 p.m. at Rupp Funeral Home, 2345 S. Custer Road, Monroe, MI 48161, where services celebrating her life will begin at 12 noon on Monday, December 4, 2023. Rev. Heather Boone will officiate. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Monroe.
