Linda Lou Weier, age 77 of Monroe, passed away peacefully at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Seacrest Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Born April 19, 1947, in Monroe, Michigan, she is the daughter of the late Ben and Ada (Conn) Weier. Linda attended and graduated from Monroe High School.

In her free time, she enjoyed watching Lifetime movies as well as crime shows, her favorite being the First 48. Linda liked to read, especially the Bible. She also liked to go thrifting and collect lap blankets.

A lifelong homemaker, Linda cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to call her family to catch up on their lives. Linda will be deeply missed and cherished by all who knew her.

To cherish her memory, Linda leaves her two children, Mary Bashaw of Monroe and Darren Bashaw of Ohio; one sister, Francis (Richard) Russeau of Monroe; nine grandchildren: Clete McLaughlin, Robert McLaughlin, Angel McLaughlin, Joseph Bashaw, Briana Pittman, Ada Pittman, Desiree Musson, Dillon Bashaw, and Jessica Bashaw; ten great-grandchildren; and her beloved cat, Izzie.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Bashaw; one great-granddaughter, Kailana Moncelli; and siblings: Marie (Carl) Noe, Ruth (Bernie) Murphy, Raymond (June) Weier, Betty Weier, Joanne (Robert) Duvall, Arthur (Rosemary) Weier, Carol (Donald) Colpaert, Allen Weier, and Clinton Weier.

Family and friends may visit Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 12 noon until services celebrating Linda’s life begin at 2 p.m. at Rupp Funeral Home, 2345 S. Custer Road, Monroe, MI 48161. Rev. Jim French will officiate. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will follow.

Memorial contributions in Linda’s memory are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
