Linda Elaine Peck

October 29, 1942 – January 15, 2025

 

Linda Elaine Peck, age 82 of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Foundation Park Alzheimer’s Care Center in Toledo.

Linda was born on October 29, 1942, in Monroe. She was the daughter of the late Elmer and Mae (Straub) Mulligan. She attended Monroe High School and graduated in 1960.

Linda first married Lee Younglove on September 14, 1963 in Monroe. Together they had one daughter. Later on, Linda met and married Forrest Peck on February 1, 1966, in Toledo, OH. Their family then became five.

In 1969, Linda moved to Florida and years later returned back to Monroe where she worked as a Nurse’s Aide at Beach Nursing Home for 24 years and then went on to work at The Lutheran Home for 4 years before retiring in 2007.

Linda was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church. In her spare time, Linda enjoyed crocheting Afghans and making homemade gifts for her family, friends, and neighbors. She made many friends at The Monroe Senior Center where she enjoyed socializing and meeting new people. Linda was also a Detroit Tigers Baseball and Toledo Mud Hens fan and watched the games on TV as well as listen to it on the radio. Her absolute favorite delight was chocolate covered cherries. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Beloved mother of Christina Younglove, Timothy (April) Peck, and Daniel (Mercedes) Peck. Loving grandmother of Forrest Peck II and Gabriella Peck. Dear sister of Susan Boys. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by a granddaughter, AnnaBelle Peck; great grandson, Forrest Peck III; three brothers: Lawrence Mulligan, Richard Mulligan, and David Mulligan; and one sister, Patsy Howerton.

Family and friends may visit on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Rupp Funeral Home, 2345 South Custer Road, Monroe, MI, from 2 to 7 pm. The funeral service celebrating Linda’s life will begin at 7pm that evening. Officiating is Rev. Larry Detruf. In accordance with Linda’s wishes, cremation will take place after the service.
