Linda M. Herrera
June 1, 1948 – January 28, 2025
Linda Marie Herrera, age 76 of Monroe, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at home under hospice care.
Born June 1, 1948, in Monroe. She was the daughter of the late Dean and Helen (Vagt) Geiman. Linda graduated from Airport High School in 1966.
Linda met and married her husband of 47 years, Manuel Herrera, on December 29, 1977, in Toledo, OH. They spent many summers at Peroli Park, in their RV, enjoying the company of friends and family. For over a decade, they enjoyed their DJ business, True Sound, playing for many events in the surrounding communities.
Linda worked for Farmers Insurance Company as an Insurance Agent for around 10 years. She then worked for Monroe Public Schools on the school bus. She was a bus aide for many years before retiring.
Linda was a very active member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Monroe. She participated in Ladies Aide and Alter Guild. Linda also took part in helping with funeral luncheons. Linda continued the family tradition of working at the Monroe County Fair, at the entry gates every year.
Most importantly, she will be remembered for her caring personality. Linda was an amazing mom and grandma. She was selfless and took care of her family at any chance she could. Linda will be deeply missed and cherished in the hearts of her loved ones, as well as her loving four-legged companion: Manny.
Beloved wife of Manuel Herrera. Loving mother of Michelle Hendrix, Rodney (Missy) Kohler, Lisa Herrera, Lori Herrera, Todd Herrera, and Chris (Carrie) Herrera. Dearest grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Richard (Debbie) Geiman, Karen (Randy) Newman, and Larry (Patty) Geiman.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by sister: Sandra Geiman; son: Marc Herrera; and daughter-in-law: Dawn Herrera.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Monday, February 3, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home, from 3 to 8 pm. The funeral service will be on Tuesday. February 4, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home, starting at 11 am. Officiating is Pastor John Carrier. Burial will follow to Ash Cemetery in Carleton.
