Linda Sue Fleeman

Linda Sue Fleeman, age 72, of Newport, passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at ProMedica Monroe regional Hospital.

Born on August 7, 1949 in Union County, Tennessee, Linda was the daughter of the late Conda and Ruby (Asbury) Flatford. Linda attended Gibbs High School and shortly thereafter moved to Monroe . It was there that she would meet Ray Fleeman. On March 17,1970 they married and settled in Newport. Together they enjoyed 51 years of marriage.

Linda was a straight forward person but always knew when to be kind. She loved to travel home to Tennessee and enjoy the Smokey Mountains. Linda loved the outdoors and in her spare time, she enjoyed her flower garden and her doll collection.

To cherish her memory Linda leaves her husband, Ray Fleeman, a sister, Gwen (Daniel) Raymond and several nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, a brother: Conda Flatford and three sisters:  Bonnie Flatford, Geraldine Hull and Nancy Schmelz.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 3 until 7 pm at Rupp Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place at Rupp on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 11 am with Pastor Roy Southerland officiating. Linda will be laid to rest immediately following at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Flatrock.
