Lee John Bunge, age 76 of LaSalle, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at the ProMedica Regional Hospital of Monroe, with loved ones by his side.

Born August 17, 1949 in Monroe. He was the son of the late Chester and Elaine (Herman) Bunge. Lee attended Monroe High School.

Lee met and married the love of his life, Deborah Grego. They raised a family of two daughters and spent almost 58 wonderful years together.

Lee worked as a Parts Man at General Motor Company for 40 years before retiring. Lee was an avid classic car lover. He was a part of the Good Time Cruisers Car Club. Lee enjoyed driving in his 57 Chevy, 89 Corvette, or 90 Pickup Truck as well as Cadillacs in his spare time. During the summer, he attended any car shows around. 

Most importantly, he loved being a grandfather and was affectionately referred to as “Poppo.” Lee liked travelling with his grandkids and enjoyed places like Las Vegas or Gettysburg. He will be deeply missed and cherished in the hearts of his loved ones.

Beloved husband of Deborah Bunge. Loving father of Rachel (Jon) Stark and Tara (Scott) Tubbs. Dearest grandfather of Felicia (Harshal) Mehta, Carissa (Kevin) Lautzenheiser, Sean Stark, and Preston Tubbs. Dear brother of Rick (Kathy) Bunge.

In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by brother, Tim Bunge and sister, Karen Bijarro.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Rupp Funeral Home from 1 to 8 pm. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Rupp Funeral Home at 11 am. Officiating is Fr. Daniel Ring. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
