Larry William Hudson, age 83, of Monroe, passed away unexpectedly at 8:52 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at ProMedica Toledo Hospital.

Born December 17, 1940, in Hastings, Michigan, he was the son of the late William and Byrle (Brady) Hudson.  Larry attended Monroe High School, graduating with the class of 1959. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. Larry married his beloved wife, Karon Maletich, on September 19, 1964, in Monroe. He worked for Ford Motor Company as an Inspector for forty years, retiring in 2007.

Larry was always there to support local school sporting events, especially those of his grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time outdoors swimming, biking, and doing snow removal for his neighborhood. He loved music, often unintentionally entertaining his neighbors. Larry’s unwavering faith made him a strong man of God.

To cherish his memory, Larry leaves his loving wife of sixty years, Karon Hudson of Monroe; four children: Tammi Brigandi of Monroe, Amy (Aaron) Mason of Monroe, Tracie (Chad) Liptow of Newport, and Ryan (Erica Markham) Hudson of Monroe; three siblings: Lorraine Hudson, James (Dru) Hudson, and Janet Weaver; one sister-in-law, Paula Hudson; ten grandchildren: Erica, Derek, Kyle, Alex, Adam, Addison, Lily, Nick, Max, and Emmi; and four great-grandchildren: Lydia, Lincoln, Brooks, and Baker.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas C. Hudson.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and the family plans to have a memorial service at the UAW Local 387, 24250 Telegraph Road, in Flat Rock on June 7, 2024 from 4:30 p.m. until 8 p.m.
