Larry Dennis Burkey passed away on August 22, 2023 in Monroe, Michigan after a 30 day battle with cancer.

Larry was born on July 21 1964 to George Burkey and Sarah (Younglove) Burkey. Larry Married his wife Susan Bastien on August 13, 1992 in Toledo, Ohio, he attended Monroe Public Schools.

Larry was a welder for 25 years, he was also a carpenter, mechanic, and a logger, he was a jack of all trades and a master at none.

Larry loved hunting, fishing, camping, working in his yard and garden, playing cards, being with his family, and helping anyone who needed it.

Larry was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Susan of 31 years, His children; Rachel Liedel , Nicholas (Katlynn) Burkey all of Monroe, Hailey (Austin) Irwin, and Corey Burkey of LaSalle. His beautiful grandchildren Adrianna, Keyona, AJ, Kaitlyn, Andrew, Aiden, Daisy, Kaleb, Grace, and many, many nieces and nephews, His siblings Rick Burkey of Wellston, MI, George (Kim) Burkey of Monroe, Mark (Shelly) Burkey of Taylor, Diane (Joe) Haskins of New Boston, Lucille Wright of Florida, Lisa Burkey, and Larry Payne of Newport. Step Brother Greg Crutchfield of Wellston MI.

Proceeded in Death by his parents George and Sarah Burkey, sisters Bonnie Hoscheit, Christine Grabitz, and niece Roxann Underwood.

Visitation will be held Friday August 25, 2023 from 2pm to 8pm at Rupp Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 11am with Deacon Mike Stewart officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
