Kenneth Robert Johnson
July 5, 1957 – November 29, 2024
Kenneth R. Johnson, age 67 of Monroe, passed away unexpectedly at 6:40 p.m. on Friday, November 29, 2024 in his home.
Born July 5, 1957, in Monroe, Kenneth is the son of the late Harold and Violet (Spain) Johnson. He was one of thirteen children. After graduating high school, Kenneth entered the workforce. He worked for Pepsi Co. as a truck driver for ten years and finally as the Warehouse Manager for Great Lakes Tower & Antenna Co. where he worked for twenty-five years. Additionally, he was a member of the Teamster’s Local 20 Union. During this time, Kenneth married and welcomed two sons into the world: Cory and Justin.
In Kenneth’s free time, you could find him tinkering outside, tending to his garden, or doing some yard work. He was great with his hands and could fix anything. Kenneth would often call and check up on Cory and Justin and loved going over and visiting with them on the weekends. Family was important to him; he loved being with them, even if it was just to hangout. Kenneth was a masterful storyteller. He loved the holiday season and would always make his Christmas chicken every year. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
To cherish his memory Kenneth leaves two sons, Cory (Rebecca) Johnson and Justin (Jimma) Johnson both of Monroe; three brothers: David (Rebecca) Johnson, Michael (Connie) Johnson, and Wayne Johnson; six sisters: Helen Brancheau, Barbara (Steve) Clark, Joyce Uden, LaDonna Baber, Ann Wohn, and Darla Lovell; seven grandchildren, Mia, Lucas, Nala, Mara, Toryn, Lukas, and Presley; and one great-grandchild, Charlie.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth is preceded in death by his brother, Allen Johson, and sisters, Ruth Gordon and Sharon Williams.
Friends and family are welcome to visit from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Rupp Funeral Home, 2345 South Custer Road, Monroe, MI 48161.
