Karon Sue Hudson

Karon Sue Hudson, age 82, of Monroe, passed away peacefully at Wellspring Lutheran Home, on Saturday, March 22, 2025.

Born in Monroe on September 22, 1942, Karon was one of seven children born from the union of Daniel and Lillian (Vargo) Maletich. She attended and graduated from Monroe High School with the class of 1961. Three years later, on September 19, 1964, Karon married the love of her life, Larry Hudson, and together they raised four children. Sadly, after more than sixty years together, Larry passed in May of 2024.

Karon enjoyed her position as a Teacher's Aide for the Monroe Public Schools for twenty years before retiring in 1997. She was a member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church and served as a Eucharist Minister for many years.

Karon was devoted to her family and spent much time taking care of her grandchildren and attending their sporting events and other activities. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing Bingo and going to the casinos.

To cherish her memory, Karon leaves four children: Tammi Brigandi, Amy (Aaron) Mason, Tracie (Chad) Liptow and Ryan (Erica) Hudson; Five siblings: Daniel (Sherry) Maletich, Michael (Susan) Maletich, Brenda (Larry) Montri, Sandra (Ben) Budzios and Lori (Greg) Kelly; ten grandchildren: Erica, Derek, Kyle, Alex, Adam, Addison, Lily, Nick, Max and Emmi; and six great-grandchildren: Lydia, Lincoln, Brooks, Baker, Beau and Briggs.

Karon is preceded in death by her husband Larry, her twin sister, Karol Dise and her parents.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place. Friends and family may gather at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church on Thursday, April 3, 2025 from 9:30 am until 10:30 am. A service in her honor will begin at 10:30. Arrangements have been entrusted to Rupp Funeral Home.
