Karen Neidinger, age 79, of Monroe, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family, on Friday, June 3, 2022.

Born June 1, 1943, in Monroe, Michigan, Karen was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Margaret (Willhauck) Neidinger. Karen attended Airport Community School and graduated in June of 1961. She went on to make her living as an insurance underwriter, for Dansard Little Insurance Company as well as an office manager and computer clerk with other industries She was devoted and hardworking and retired in 2009.

Karen was a faith filled and loving person. Her most treasured moments were her time spent with family and friends. In her spare time, she enjoyed travel, going to the casino, playing cards, and having dinner out.  

To cherish her memory, Karen leaves three sisters: Judy Neidinger, Sally (William) Mitosinka, and Margie Neidinger; a sister-in-law, Barbara Neidinger; six nieces and nephews: Cindy, Terri, Debbie, Tim, Joe, and Kim; many great nieces and nephews; and one great-great Nephew.  She also leaves behind countless friends and extended family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Thomas Neidinger: and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Family and friends are welcome to visit on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, from 2 until 7 pm at Rupp Funeral Home. Karen will lie in state at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Wednesday June 8, 2022, at 10 am and a mass will take place at 11am.

The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful staff at ProMedica Hospice, especially Beth, Nicole, and John.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Dementia Society of America, ProMedica Heartland Home and Health Hospice, or St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
