Juanice Estep Obituary

Juanice “Jan” Estep

December 17,1937 – June 6, 2024

Juanice “Jan” Estep, age 86 of Monroe, passed to her new home in heaven in the presence of her husband, children and their spouses.  She had become seriously ill in the last seven weeks of her life.  She spoke of going home; her favorite bible verses (John 3:16; Psalm 23;) and we sang her favorite Christian hymns and songs.

Jan sang at Radio City Music Hall and turned down a promising career in Opera to marry her first and only love, Bernard Estep, and sing Christian music in service to the Lord.  She raised her children to love God and people.  She loved the scriptures and taught them all about the truths in the Word.

Jan sang often as a soloist in the church and was a founding member of the Raisinville Baptist Church.  Her entire family was involved in service at that church for many years before retiring to Florida.

Jan and her husband returned to Monroe in 2005 to be with their children and grandchildren.  She enjoyed painting, floral arranging, crafting, cooking, reading Christian authors and sunsets on the beach and visits to the Smoky Mountains.

To cherish her memory, Jan leaves her beloved husband of sixty-seven years, Bernard C. Estep of Monroe; four children: Chuck (Bev) Estep of Lambertville, Mica (Kelly) Estep of Lambertville, Joy (David) Bagnall of Monroe, and Beth (Mick) Misiak of Monroe; one sister, Bartie (Cecil) England of South Carolina; six grandchildren: Benjamin Estep, Haley (Jake Sutter) Misiak, Ian (Emily) Misiak, Taylor (Matt) Harter, Jillyan (Patrick) Holman, and Emma Estep; three step-grandchildren: Brittany (Bobby) Millard, Bryan (Sandy) Bagnall, and Brok (Jessica) Bagnall; and three great-grandchildren: Isaac, Lennon, and Titus.

Family and friends may visit from 4p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2024, at Rupp Funeral Home, 2345 S. Custer Road, Monroe, MI 48162, where services celebrating her life will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, June 10, 2024. Rev. David Edwards and Rev. Robin Pruitt will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
