Joyce Ann Staelgraeve

Joyce Ann Staelgraeve, lovingly known as Mom, Grandma, Sweet Aunt Joyce, and Momma Joyce, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 29, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was 78 years old.
Born on February 4,1947, in Monroe, Michigan, Joyce was the daughter of George and Charlotte Post. She grew up with strong family values and a deep faith that guided her throughout her life. On September 14, 1968, Joyce married the love of her life, Gary Staelgraeve, and together they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unwavering devotion.
Joyce was the sweetest soul, always putting others before herself. Her priorities were simple yet profound: family and church. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Church in Maybee, VFW Post 4093 Ladies Auxiliary, Divine Grace Christian Mothers, where her faith was a cornerstone of her life. Joyce’s generosity and kindness touched everyone she met—whether through a comforting word, a sweet giggle, a greeting card, or simply her presence that made you feel loved.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Gary Staelgraeve; her beloved daughter, Karie Staelgraeve; and her cherished grandson, Angel Staelgraeve. Joyce also leaves behind her brothers: Eugene Post (Marie of Carleton), Roger Post (Rosie of Carleton), and Daniel Post (Barb of Carleton); sisters-in-law, Liz Post (of Monroe) and Sue Post (of Luna Pier); along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family who adored her. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Charlotte Post, and her twin brother, Cloyce Post & brother Ernest Post.
Joyce’s life was a testament to love, faith, and selflessness. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 8th from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Rupp Funeral Home, 2345 S. Custer Road, Monroe, MI 48161, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. She will lie in state on Tuesday, December 9th at 10:00 a.m. at Divine Grace Parish - St. Joseph Church, Maybee, where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Maybee.
