Joseph P. Ellison, age 49 of Monroe, passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, September 11, 2025.

Born on July 14, 1976 in Monroe. He is the son of Annie (McMullian) DeNoewer and the late Harry Ellison. Joe graduated from High School.

Joe worked at Bay Corrugated Container Company as a Machine Operator. In his free time, Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing football or baseball, and wrestling. In his younger years, he tried skating, skateboarding, and playing the guitar but it was a dream that was never fulfilled.

Joe will be remembered for his caring and giving personality. He often reacted before thinking, but he treasured his family wholeheartedly. Joe will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

To cherish his memory, Joe leaves behind his children: Dylan (Kait Gross) Gibson and Kaitlyn Ellison; grandchildren: Scotty and Finn Gibson; mother: Annie DeNoewer; brothers: Jacob (Kathryn) Ellison, Jared (Tia Moore) DeNoewer, and James (Brittany) Beavers; nieces: Jlyn DeNoewer, Elizabeth Ellison, Bailey Ellison, and AnnaBelle Gordon; and nephews: Nicholas Owens, Drake Ellison, and Damien Gordon.

Joe was preceded in death by his father: Harry Ellison.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home from 2 until 7 pm. The funeral service will be on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home starting at 11 am. Family member, Daniel Bruce, will officiate. Cremation will conclude services.
