Johnnie George Braden

Johnnie G. Braden, age 76, of Lewiston, Michigan, passed away in his Florida home on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 after a battle with health issues.
Born November 10, 1944 in Monroe, Michigan, Johnnie was one of four children born from the union of the late Eli and Mary (Wyerman) Braden. Johnnie attended and graduated from Dundee High School and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On Mach 6, 1995, Johnnie married Emily Beumel in Toledo, Ohio and together they shared 26 years of marriage. He made a living working for Ford Motor Company, retiring in 1997 after 32 years of service.
Johnnie was a member of the VFW post in Lewiston. He was known to be quite a talker. In his spare time Johnnie enjoyed traveling and boating.
To cherish his memory, he leaves his wife; Emily Braden; two daughters: Julie (Scott) Hart of Livonia, Michigan and Jennifer (Steve) York of Illinois; a stepdaughter, Kathryn Steffke; two sisters: Janice Rexroad and Brenda (William) Metcalfe, and eight grandchildren: Lydia Robison, Spencer York, Avery York, Elaine Hart, Aaron Hart, John Stuck, Brandon Stuck, and Emily Steffke.
Johnnie is preceded in death by his parents: Eli and Mary Braden, a son, John Braden; and a sister, Susan Braden.
Family and friends may gather on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 from 2 until 7 pm at Rupp Funeral Home. A funeral Service will take place at Rupp Funeral Home on Thursday, March 25th at 11am with Rev. Joe Bryant officiating. Johnnie will be laid to rest following the service a Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle.
