John (Jack) Anton Mushung, age 86 of Monroe, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday October 26, 2021.

John was born on May 2, 1935 in Monroe, MI to the late Peter and Susanne (Brauns) Mushung. He attended and graduated from Monroe High School. John would go on to meet and marry the love of his life, Gloria Porter, on November 4, 1961 in Monroe, MI. The two would go on to build a home and spend just a few days shy of 60 loving years together.

John was an avid bowler, but he was a phenomenal fast pitch softball player. John was known far and wide in the fast pitch community. He was also a dedicated worker, working as a truck driver for Phillips Beverage and went on to work for Broadway market making many memories along the way.

To cherish his memory, John leaves his loving wife, Gloria; daughter, Pamala Mushung; three brothers; one sister; eight grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

Along with his parents, John is preceded in death by a son John P. Mushung. One brother, one sister, and one grandchild.

Family and friends are welcome to gather from 2pm-7pm on Saturday November 13, 2021 at Rupp Funeral Home, where a memorial service will be held at 7pm. Rev. BJ McDaniel will officiate. In accordance with family wishes, cremation has occurred.
