JoAnne Ringel

JoAnne Ringel, age 86 of Carleton, passed away the evening of Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Fountain View of Monroe surrounded by her loving family.
JoAnne was born September 20, 1934, in Detroit. She was one of three children of the late William and LeVega Barker. JoAnne graduated from Adelphian Jr. Academy in 1952. After graduating, she completed two years of college at Immanuel Missionary College. JoAnne married the love of her life, Roger Ringel, on April 2, 1955. They raised a family of six children and spent over 66 wonderful years together. JoAnne worked for JoAnn Fabrics as a salesclerk for eighteen years.
JoAnne’s greatest pleasure was being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved her family and cherished her time spent with her grandchildren. In her spare time, JoAnne enjoyed camping, boating, and fishing. She also loved to read, crochet, knit and sew.
To cherish her memory, JoAnne leaves her loving husband, Roger; a son, David (Kay) Ringel of Monroe, five daughters: Nancy Morgan of Monroe, Jackie Ringel of Monroe, Sharon Ringel of Monroe, Brenda (Scott) Cowgill of Niles, MI., and Tiana (Ryan) West of Newaygo, MI. JoAnne is also survived by eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Along with her parents, JoAnne is preceded in death by her brother, Jack Barker.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Rupp Funeral Home from 2:00 to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at Rupp Funeral Home starting at 11:00 am. Officiating will be her son, David Ringel and Hospice Chaplain Thomas Tengler. JoAnne will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Roselawn Memorial Park.
