JoAnn Combs
January 12, 1944 – March 2, 2021
JoAnn Combs, age 77 of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital of Toledo.
Born January 12, 1944 in Monroe to the late Wid and Geneva (Smith) Cordrey. JoAnn was a cashier at Big Lots for ten years before retiring as well as raising five children.
JoAnn met the love of her life, John Combs. They got married in 1984 but were together many years prior. They spent over 28 wonderful years together.
She was a proud of her ancestry of being native American heritage. In her free time, JoAnn was a proud member of the Turtle Island Dream Keepers of Monroe. She loved to attend powwows. She also enjoyed making crafts of all kinds. Most importantly, JoAnn enjoyed spending quality time with her family, especially her grandkids. She will be known as the best mom and granny one could ask for.
Beloved mother of John (Nancy) Eastes of Grosse Ile, MI and Darlene (Tom) Hamlin of Monroe as well as granddaughter: Danielle Mickhail. Loving grandmother of nine grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, JoAnn is preceded in death by her husband, John Combs; two daughters: Jennifer Grady and Carla Nash; granddaughter, Leslie Umensetter; two great-granddaughters: Nevaeh Buchanan and Gracie Waller; and one great grandson, Orlando Eastes.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, March 5, 2021 at Rupp Funeral Home from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A funeral service will immediately follow starting at 6:00 pm. Officiating is Rev. Mike Anthony. Per the families wishes, cremation will take place following the funeral service.
