Jeanette M. Nickel

Jeanette Mae Nickel, age 91 of Monroe, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Wellspring Lutheran Services of Monroe.
Jeanette was born on May 26, 1931 in Monroe to the late Warner and Gertrude (Heck) Weeman. She married the love of her life, John S. Nickel, on October 14, 1950 at Zion Lutheran Church. They raised a family of two children and spent 62 wonderful years together before his passing in 2012.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church for most of her life. In her free time, Jeanette enjoyed playing cards. She also loved her home and backyard.
To cherish her memory, Jeanette leaves her daughter, Debra Jones; grandson, Derrick Jones; sister, Phyllis Grunow of Lake Park, FL; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, John, and her son, Douglas.
Family and friends are welcome to a visitation on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Rupp Funeral Home from 10:00 to 11:00 am. A funeral service will immediately begin at 11:00 am with Pastor Ross Ulrich officiating. Burial will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park.
Memorial donations in honor of Jeanette are suggested to Zion Lutheran Church (Friends in Faith) or ProMedica Hospice.
