Jeanette L. Doom, age 97, of LaSalle, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, October 13, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Born March 15, 1927 in Monroe, MI., Jeanette was the daughter of the late Harvey and Martha (Kohler) Saul. She graduated from Monroe High School and went on to attain her cosmetology license. Jeanette married Henry Doom in August of 1949 and together they raised seven children. They owned and operated the LaSalle Bar. Jeanette also styled and cut hair. Sadly, after more than 50 years together, Henry passed away February, 2002.

Jeanette was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Erie where she sought comfort in her Lord and Savior.  In her spare time Jeanette enjoyed shooting pool, and for many years she was the president of the league. She also enjoyed playing cards, trips to the casino, shopping, canning and decorating. Her family meant the world to her, and she will be truly missed by all that knew and loved her.

To cherish her memory, Jeanette leaves her children, Randolph (Jeanette) Doom, Thomas (Jennifer) Doom, Ronald (Elaine) Doom, Jeffrey (Melissa) Doom, Kelvin (Denise) Doom, David (Suzanne) Doom and Martha Doom. She also leaves fourteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry, a grandson, Mitchel Doom and a brother Harvey “Mickey” Saul Jr.

In accordance with the family’s wishes, services for Jeanette will be private.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Ronni, a Laprad home care specialist, for the excellent and loving care she gave to their mother in her final years.
