Janice A. Strimpel

April 20, 1940 – January 30, 2025

 

Janice A. Strimpel, age 84 of Carleton, passed away peacefully at 1:07 am on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at her home. She had been in poor health for the past year.

Born April 20, 1940 in Monroe. She was the daughter of the late Ethel (Johnson) and Joseph Jackson. On November 14, 1964, she married Arthur T. Strimpel at St. Patrick’s Church of Carleton. They raised a family of 11 children and spent over 48 wonderful years together before he sadly passed in 2013.

Janice was a homemaker. She attended St. Patrick and St. Mary High School and was a lifelong member of St. Patrick (Divine Grace) Parish. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends as well as her beloved four-legged companion: Teddy Bear. Janice loved playing games like Yahtzee and Euchre. She was a Detroit Tiger baseball fan. She also enjoyed bowling, bonfires, and crocheting. Most importantly, she cherished her grandbabies and took any opportunity to hug on them. Janice will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are her children: Arthur II, Barbara, John, William (Julie), James (Tami), Shellie (Scott) Haddix, George (Blair), Charles (Rebecca), Theresa, and Edward (Christina); 32 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; brothers: Gilbert (Roan) Jackson, Russell Jackson, Leroy (Sherry) Jackson, and Bryan (Jewel) Jackson, and sister: Eldeina Perry.

In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by husband: Arthur; son: Francis; sisters: Janet Burger and Barbara Howe; brothers: Arthur Jackson, Thomas Jackson, and John Jackson.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home from 1:00 to 8:00 pm, with recitation of the rosary at 6:00 pm. The funeral service will be on Monday, February 3, 2025, at Divine Grace Parish- St. Patrick Catholic Church of Carleton. Janice will lie instate at 10 am with funeral mass starting at 11 am. Officiating is Rev. Dr. Michael Woroniewicz. She will be laid to rest immediately following at St. Patrick Cemetery.

Donation memorials in honor of Janice may be made to St. Patrick Catholic School.
