Janice Cline Obituary

Janice M. Cline

March 8, 1939 - July 9, 2024

Janice M. Cline, age 85 of Monroe, went home to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her loving family at 3:12 p.m. on July 9, 2024, in her home.

Born March 8, 1939 in Monroe, she is the daughter of the late Herman and Edna (Ellison) Braden. Jan attended Monroe High School, graduating with the class of 1957. She married her beloved husband of more than fifty years, Charles Cline, in 1957; sadly, he preceded her in death on June 13, 2008. Jan worked for Wackenhut Security as Captain at the Fermi Powerplant and finally for Monroe County Community College as a cafeteria worker.

Jan was a faithful, prayer warrior. She was soft spoken and quiet but had a wonderful sense of humor. She will forever be remembered for being gracious and kind to all.

She was a member of North Monroe Street Church of God, serving with the Lady’s Willing Workers. Jan enjoyed volunteering with the ladies and helping to organize the groups’ activities and trips.

To cherish her memory, Jan leaves four children: Keith “Randy” (Brenda) Cline, Kevin Cline, Kim (Craig) Lajiness, and Kathy Cesnulis; five grandchildren: Stacey Cesnulis, Stephanie Cesnulis, Ashley (Kenny) Bahena, Nick (Brittany) Lajiness, and Greyson (Channa) Boyd; six great-grandchildren: Jio, Laci, Jacob, Bella, Jessika, and Carson; many loving nieces and nephews; and her grand-dog, Cash.

Family and friends may visit from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Rupp Funeral Home, 2345 S. Custer Road, Monroe, MI 48161. She will lie in state at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Noth Monroe Street Church of God, where services celebrating her life will begin at 11 a.m. Rev. Rick Massingill, pastor of the church, will officiate. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Monroe.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Samantha Cesnulis and Sarah Lajiness; and two brothers, Kenneth and Norman Braden.

Memorial contributions in Jan’s memory are suggested to North Monroe Street Church of God or Elara Caring Hospice.
