Janet Ann Venturelli, age 79, a lifelong resident of Monroe, passed away in her home, surrounded by her loving family at 8:48 a.m. on Friday, August 23, 2024.
Born March 6, 1945, she is the daughter of the late Leon and Zettie (Bastien) Cousino. Janet was a graduate of Airport High School and attended classes at Monroe County Community College. Janet was a giving and selfless person, often willing to help anyone in need. She was also an excellent cook and baker. Janet could often be found spending time with family and friends shopping and junk store thrifting. She enjoyed penny slots and would not pass up an opportunity to join family or friends at the casino. She enjoyed being outdoors observing nature, watching beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and working in her garden. Janet will forever be remembered for her strong-willed, kind, warm, generous and classy personality.
To cherish her memory, Janet leaves her four children: Gregory Scott (Melissa) Wiley of Wyandotte, Todd Alan Wiley of Detroit, Robin Lynn (Kathi Silvi) Wiley of Grass Lake, and Heather Leigh (Jeremy) Johns of Newport; former husband and close friend, Art (Mark Perez) Wiley; four siblings: Ted (Bev) Cousino, Pat (Raymond) Duty, Sue Cousino, and Wanda (Mike) Bomia; two grandchildren, Nicholas Anthony (Emily Tucker) Wiley and Jase Lane Johns; one great-grandchild, Gavin Flaishans; many loving nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Beckley.
