Janet Marie (Jackson) Burger

Janet Marie Burger, age 83, of Carleton, MI. Passed away August 18, 2023, at her residence. Janet was one of ten children born to the late Ethel (Johnson) and Joseph Jackson on April 20, 1940, in Monroe, Mi. Janet attended St Mary’s Academy. She went on to marry James Burger and together they raised a son, Michael. James and Janet enjoyed almost 50 years of marriage before, sadly, James passed in 2016.

Janet was a homemaker that loved spending time with her family. She was known for being very caring and for her soft and big heart. Janet enjoyed playing games with her family, such as Yahtzee, Tri-Ominos and could hold her own on the Euchre table. When things would quiet down, or Janet needed some time to think she loved finding peace by sitting on her porch.

Janet is survived by a son, Michael Burger; Granddaughter, Ashley (Brandon) Deuble, Great- Grandchildren Natalie and Skylar, Brothers; Gilbert (Roan) Jackson, Russell Jackson, Leroy (Sherry) Jackson, John Jackson, and Bryan (Jewel) Jackson, sisters: Janice Strimpel and Eldeina Perry.

Janet was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Howe and brother Thomas Jackson.

Friends and family may gather on Thursday, August 24, 2023, from 2pm until 8pm with a Rosary at 7pm, at the Rupp Funeral Home.  She will lie in state at Divine Grace Parish on Friday, August 25, 2023, at 10 am, with a funeral mass beginning at 11 am. She will be laid to rest immediately following at St. Patrick Cemetery. The Rupp family is honored to be assisting the family of Janet Burger in their time of need.
