James Beaudry Obituary

James Edward Beaudry
May 4, 1944-October 10, 2020

James Edward Beaudry, age 76 of Monroe, passed quietly from us into the arms of our lord on Saturday October 10, 2020 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.

James was born to the late Clare and Hazel (Groat) Beaudry on May 4, 1944 in Warren, MI as one of 11 children.

James married Martha A (Rehberg) Beaudry on January 13, 1965 in Mt. Clemens, MI.

James loved University of Michigan Football, having held four season tickets from 1978-present. He especially loved tailgating with his tailgate "family."

James was a very generous person. He brought back sweet cherries from Traverse City to gift to family, church friends, and neighbors. Halloween was a special holiday since he always was prepared to give out the large candy bars to kids. He was also an avid supporter to the missions of Calvary UMC, supporting the Free Little Food Pantry, and the children at Waterloo School.

James proudly served in the US Army in the 7th Cavalry at Fort Benning, GA from 1961-1964. Following his honorable discharge, James returned to Michigan and while working at a tool and die factory, sustained a severe injury to his dominate left hand. The accident would leave him with a permanent handicap. In 1966 he moved to Monroe with his wife. James received a 30 year employment award from Time Container/Jefferson Smurfit Paper Mill. His last working position was as a delivery person for Pete's Ice.

In addition to his loving wife, Martha, James is survived by two children: William (Bridgette) Beaudry and Mary (Bradley) Schiller; five grandchildren: Bianca (Brandon) Borgert, Bailey Beaudry, Daklen, Daschal, and Gentry; two great grandchildren: Miles and Mia; seven siblings: Jacqueline Reno, Gloria (Mike) Eytcheson, Margaret (John) Howard, Patrick (Wanda) Beaudry, Anthony (Laura) Beaudry, Joseph Beaudry, and Terry (Stan) Gniewek; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, James is preceded in death by one sister, Linda Berger, and two brothers, William (Infant) and Donald Beaudry.

A University of Michigan themed visitation (people are welcomed to wear their own team apparel) will be held on Friday October 16, 2020 from 2-8pm and Saturday October 17, 2020 from 12-1pm at Rupp Funeral Home, where a celebration of life will be held on Saturday October 17, 2020 at 1pm. Rev. Andrea Johnson, Pastor of Calvary UMC, will officiate. Military honors will be rendered under the auspice of VFW Post 1138. In accordance with James' wishes, cremation will follow.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial to Calvary UMC or Little Free Pantry Mission.
