Jacqueline A. Hackert
June 27,1925 – August 31, 2025
Jacqueline A. Hackert, age 100, of Monroe, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 31, 2025.
Born in Monroe on June 27, 1925, Jacqueline was the daughter of the late Honroe and Alida (Nerregher) Van Den Berghe. She attended and graduated from Monroe High School. Jacqueline went on to raise three children. In 1971, she married the late James Hackert and together they made their home here in Monroe with the children.
Jacqueline spent her younger years working for the small boutiques in town. She was most proud of the 20 years she spent working for the Monroe Evening News in the distribution Center. The relationships she built there were extremely important to her, and she loved them like family. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church.
Jacqueline was first and foremost a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Spending time with her family was a highlight of her life. She was strong and hard-working and would do anything for her friends and family. In her spare time, she enjoyed Bingo, Casinos and playing cards. She was fun to be around and very witty. She will be truly missed by all that knew and loved her.
To cherish her memory, she leaves a son Richard (Charlene) Turner; nine grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Jacqueline is preceded in death by her late husband, James Hackert, two brothers: Joseph and Marshall Van Den Berghe; two sisters: Josephine Bordeau and Bernice Pratt and two children: Gary Turner and Chyril Mason.
The family would like to thank Fountainview of Monroe as well as Beacon Hospice for their loving care and support.
At the family's request, services for Jacqueline will be private.
