Harold “Scooter” Wayne Schreiber

February 7, 1957 – June 26, 2026

Harold “Scooter" Wayne Schreiber, age 69, of Monroe, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 26, 2026, while under the compassionate care of Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

Born on February 7, 1957, in Monroe, Michigan, Harold was the son of Henry Schreiber and Barbara Jean Decker. Harold attended Monroe High School and spent much of his working life as the owner of B & A Towing Company, partnering with John Smallwood Sr. He also worked at Guardian Glass until he was forced to medically retire in 2019. He was known for his hard work, dependability, and willingness to help others.

Harold was proceeded in death by his beloved wife, Kathy Schreiber in 2003; his parents, Henry Schreiber, and Barbara Jean  Barthel; his stepfather; Joseph Barthel; and his brother-in-law, Eugene Dean.  

Family was the center of Harold's life. He treasured the time he spent with those he loved most and enjoyed watching sports, especially Detroit Tigers baseball. He also enjoyed bowling and was known for his easygoing nature and genuine appreciation for life's simple pleasures.

Harold is survived by his children, Paula (Shawn) Smith and Eric Schreiber. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Trenton Schreiber, Tyler Schreiber, Mackenzie Schreiber, and Abigail Schreiber; and his great-grandchildren, Evan Schreiber and Devin Brown.

He is also survived by his siblings, Robert (Bonnie) Schreiber, Bonnie Dean, Dennis (Denise) Schreiber, and Carol (Bob) Schreiber, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, June 30, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Rupp Funeral Home, 2345 S. Custer Road, Monroe, MI 48161. Services celebrating his life will be held on Wednesday, July 1, at 11:00 a.m., also at Rupp Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the compassionate care shown to Harold during his final days.
