Gloria “Jean” Mushung, age 87 of Monroe, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Monroe Springs Nursing Center.

Born October 12, 1937, in Dansville, MI. She was the daughter of the late Roy and Thelma (White) Porter.

After graduating from High School, Jean moved to Monroe in 1960. She met and married the love of her life: John “Jack” Mushung on November 4, 1961, in Monroe. They raised a family of two children and spent almost 60 wonderful years together until Jack sadly passed in 2021.

Jean worked for the City of Monroe as a crossing guard for 20 years as well as a security at the IHM. In her free time, Jean enjoyed reading, gardening, and all things NASCAR. Jean will be deeply missed and cherished in the hearts of her loved ones.

Surviving is her daughter: Pamala Mushung; brother: Gary Porter; sister: Judy Finney; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by husband: Jack; son: John P. Mushung; one brother; two sisters; and one grandchild.
