Glenda Jo Koths, age 88 of Monroe, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, under hospice care.

Born July 19, 1935, in Monroe. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marcile (Nixon) Runyon. Glenda graduated from Monroe High School in 1953. She later continued her education at Monroe Community College.

Glenda met and married the love of her life: Karl Koths on February 14, 1982, at Bethany Baptist Church of Monroe. She was a loving homemaker to her husband and children growing up. They spent over 26 wonderful years together, before Karl sadly passed in 2008.

Glenda was an avid reader and music lover. She was a very curious person who sought out information of all kinds. She was interested in art, science, and philosophy. Glenda will be known for her kindness and always looking for the good in others. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Beloved mother of Carol (Late; Ken) Domansky, Michael (Kathleen) Richards, Scott (Brenda) Richards, Laura (Bob) Atkins, Lauren Richards, Jeff (Renee) Richards, and David (Tracey) Koths. Loving grandmother of eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, with one on the way, and one great-great grandchild.

In addition to her parents, Glenda was preceded in death by husband: Karl Koths; Siblings: Charles “Bud” Runyon and Judith Reece; and Son-in-law Ken Domansky.

The family expresses a special thank you to her neighbor, Colin James, for his loving care and support over the years. He went above and beyond for Glenda and they will forever be grateful.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place with no services at this time. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Rupp Funeral Home. Her ashes will then be scattered in the Footprint Garden at Roselawn Memorial Park.
