Gerald Michael Siebert, age 79 of Monroe, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, April 19, 2021.

Born January 27, 1942 in Monroe. He was one of three children of the late Wilbert G. and Marie C. (Gentner) Siebert. Gerry graduated from Monroe Catholic Central in 1959. He continued his education at University of Detroit.

After working at Dundee Cement, they sent him to the University of Toledo where he achieved his bachelors degree. He started working at the bank where he ended up retiring from as the Vice President in data processing.

Gerry married Sylvia Cox. They were married for 55 years and raised their family of three girls. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church of Monroe.

In his free time, Gerry enjoyed going to classic car shows and showing off his own classic muscle car, riding with the Monroe Good Time Cruisers. In his younger years, he liked to be outside and work on his yard. Gerry also liked to watch NASCAR races including the Indy 500. He obtained his private pilot license in order to fly light aircraft as a hobby, and belonged to a club that flew out of the Coleman A. Young International Airport (formerly Detroit City Airport until 2003).

Gerald is survived by his three daughters; Kathy Siebert of Monroe, Tammy (Matthew) McMillan of Monroe, and Wendy Siebert of Monroe; one grandson, Joshua McMillan; one brother, Paul (Suzanne) J. Siebert; and a sister: Pamela A. Stepp.

In addition to his parents, Gerry was preceded in death by his former spouse, Sylvia Siebert, and brother-in-law, Thomas Stepp.

Family and friends may visit from 2-7pm on Monday April 26, 2021 at Rupp Funeral Home, where a celebration of Gerald's life will be held at 7pm. Gerald's body will be laid to rest, as well as Sylvia's ashes, at 11am on Tuesday April 27, 2021 at St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroe.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Gerald's honor may be made to the Humane Society of Monroe County.
