April 28, 1957 – October 10, 2024

Evelyn “Evie” Genevieve Kropaczewski, age 67 of Monroe, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at the ProMedica Regional Hospital of Monroe.

Born April 28, 1957, in Wyandotte, Evie was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Cecilia (Szczepaniak) Strochine. After high school, Evie worked as a production line worker before ultimately landing her favorite job as a homemaker, where she was able to support and care for her children and grandchildren.

Evie enjoyed bowling on the Thursday Night Special League for many years. She would go with her best friend, Tracy Schuyler, at any chance they got to go play Bingo together as well as the game Yahtzee. Evie was also a big Tigers fan and enjoyed watching any game, either from home or at Tiger’s Stadium or Comerica Park.

Most importantly, Evie loved spending time with her family-especially her grandchildren. They were her world to spoil and cherish. Evie will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Beloved wife of James “Kroppy” Kropaczewski Jr. Loving mother of Lawrence Rock Jr., Andrew (Christie) Rock, Amber (Tom) Bolicki, and James Kropaczewski III. Dearest grandmother of Averi Rock, Makayla Souva, Ayden Rock, Temple Carter, Breehanna Tamayo, Celena Tamayo, Daniella Calderas, Elijah Calderas, and Farrah Calderas. Dear sister of Kenneth Strochine, Helen Strochine Ziembowiciz, Michelle (Terry) Gooslin, David (Marcia) Strochine, and Gerry Strochine.

In addition to her parents, Evie was preceded in death by sister: Cheryl Grahl Strochine.

In accordance with the family’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering will be on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Rupp Funeral Home from 12 noon until the time of service at 3 pm. Officiating is Rev. Larry Detruf.
