Evelyn Eunice Self

Evelyn, better known as Eunice Self, age 81 of Monroe, passed away the evening of Saturday July 25, 2020 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital.

Eunice was born November 16, 1938 in Monroe, MI to the late Joseph and Melissa (Garrett) Haynes. She married the love of her life, Charles William Self, on July 12, 1958. Sadly, Charles passed away on January 14, 1989.

Family and friends may visit from 12noon-8pm on Tuesday July 28, 2020 at Rupp Funeral Home, and again on Wednesday July 29, 2020 from 9am-2pm at Rupp Funeral Home. At the conclusion of visitation at 2pm, we will leave by procession for interment at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.

For all of her life, Eunice was a homemaker. She cared for her husband and raised their three children. She loved her pink and purples, planting flowers to spruce up her porch and having a wardrobe filled with these colors.

To cherish her memory, Eunice leaves three sons: William Kevin Self, Gregory Charles Self, and Gavin Patrick (Amanda) Self; one brother, Curtis Haynes; one sister, Ruby Haynes; and three grandchildren: Brendan, Aubrey, and Jordan.

Along with her parents and husband, Eunice is predeceased by three brothers: James, Lloyd, and Harvey Haynes; and one sister, Amy Ruth Haynes-Sickel.
