May 21, 1936 - June 8, 2021

 

Evelyn Maryann Cooley, age 85 of Monroe, passed away the evening of Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital.

 

Born May 21, 1936 in Monroe. She was one of eight children of the late Herman and Cecelia (LaVigne) St. Bernard. After school, Evelyn first worked at Cadillac Plastic Company in Dundee as a Lab Technician for nine years. She then went to work at a Percolator Manufacturing Company in Petersburg as a Machine Operator for six years. Lastly, Evelyn worked at Norman Towers Apartments as House Keeping in Monroe for 15 years.

 

Evelyn met and married her first husband: Eugene Mosingo on August 15, 1953 at the Pilgrim Holiness Church of Monroe. They raised a family of three children. Sadly, he passed away in 1980, after spending 27 years together. Later on, she met and married: Donald A. Cooley. They were married on April 29, 1983 in Toledo and spent 33 years together before his passing 2016. Evelyn was now married to Harold Reese in September of 2018, spending three happy years together.

 

Evelyn was a long time member of the Bible Fellowship Church of Monroe. She was also a active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Loyal Order of the Moose. Evelyn enjoyed playing Euchre, other card games, as well as gamble. She liked to travel and go camping with their trailer. Most importantly, her family meant the world to her. She loved having family gatherings for a cook-out with everyone all together. Evelyn will be dearly missed and cherished in the hearts of her loved ones.

 

Beloved wife of Harold Reese. Loving mother of Ed (Tammy) Mosingo of Monroe, Debra (Mike) Yensch of LaSalle, and Sandra (Mike) Gilmore of Rockwood. Stepmother of Mark (Denise) Cooley of Jacksboro, TX, Brian (Linda) Cooley of Maybee, Chad (Robin) Cooley of Dundee, Bonnie (Mardy) Moore of Monroe, and Renae Ashley of Ypsilanti. Dearest grandmother of Stacy Gilmore, Ashley Adrian, Crystal Adrian, Michael Yensch, Brian Yensch, Scott Yensch, Caden Mosingo, and Mason Mosingo;. Great grandmother of 13 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Thomas (Sherry) St. Bernard.

 

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by husbands: Eugene Mosingo and Donald Cooley; son, Eddie Mosingo; four grandchildren: Brandon Mosingo, Chad Cooley, Lisa Cooley, Bradley Cooley, Jeanie Gilmore, and Caylob Adrian; and siblings: Edward St. Bernard, John St. Bernard, Ronald St. Bernard, Jenny Russeau, Geraldine Loveland, and Patricia Dussia.

 

Everyone is invited to a visitation on Monday, June 14, 2021 at Rupp Funeral Home from 1:00 to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Rupp Funeral Home starting at 11 am. Officiating is Rev. Larry Detruf. Burial will follow immediately after to St. Joseph Cemetery.

 

Anyone wishing to make a memorial donation in honor of Evelyn is suggested to Bible Fellowship Church of Monroe.
