Etta F. Moody

Etta Fairel Moody, age 97 of Monroe, passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the ProMedica Regional Hospital of Monroe.
Born on December 30, 1923, in Miller, Arkansas, Etta was the daughter of Lonnie and Birdie (Murphree) Stone. On July 11, 1943, Etta married the love of her life, J. D. Moody, in Arkansas. They raised one son and spent over 69 wonderful years together before J.D.'s passing in 2012.
Etta was a longtime member of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church. In her spare time, Etta enjoyed tending to her flower garden, sewing, and making quilts. She was known for being a very talented painter and she was devoted to reading her bible every night before bed. Most importantly, Etta loved spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
To cherish her memory, Etta leaves her grandchildren: Angela (Kevin) Gaggin, Mark Moody, Michele (Steve) Willis, and Benjamin (Shy) Moody; 14 great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; and sister, Joyce Moore.
In addition to her parents and husband, Etta is preceded in death by a son, James David Moody; daughter-in-law, Susan Moody; a grandson, David Lee Moody; and six siblings.
Family and friends may visit on Sunday, January 2, 2022, at Rupp Funeral Home from 12:00 to 6:00 pm. A funeral service will take place on Monday, January 3, 2021, at Rupp Funeral Home starting at 1:00 pm. Pastor Roy Southerland will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
