Ella Mae Moore
May 30, 1925-March 6, 2023
Ella Mae Moore, age 97 of Monroe, passed away the morning of Monday March 6, 2023 in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Ella was born May 30, 1925 in Monroe, MI to Thomas and Willie (Smith) Braden. She would go on to meet and marry the love of her life, William Moore, on September 12, 1942 in Toledo, OH. Sadly, William passed away on May 16, 2000 after 57 loving years.
Ella worked for Consolidated Paper as a gluer, retiring after 32 years with the company. She then went on to work at the Monroe Evening News, placing various inserts into newspapers. Ella was a long-time member at Frenchtown Missionary Baptist Church. In her spare time, she liked to work on crosswords, ceramics and jigsaw puzzles while indulging in her guilty pleasures-dark chocolate and puff corn. Ella was also an avid gardener, and belonged to the Michigan State Home Extension. Above all else, Ella loved spending time with her family and friends, particularly her lovely grandchildren.
To cherish her memory, Ella leaves her two daughters: Patricia (Robert) Cicero and Jill (Jeff) Grzywinski; five grandchildren: Robert (Debbie) Cicero, Steven (Marcie) Cicero, Christine (Mike Noland) Marsh, Jeffrey (Sara) Grzywinski, and Julia (Connor) Winther; six great grandchildren: Lauren (Jacob) Walker, Jarrett (Ashley) Cicero, Miranda (Leonard Gregory) Cicero, Robert Cicero, Haliegh (Caleb) Wilkins, Kelcie Marsh; and two great great grandchildren: Brinley and Solai.
Along with her husband, Ella is also preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Clyde Braden; four sisters: Grace Collier, Ethel Brooks, Ruby Mell, and Elsie Bondie; son, William Moore; and grandson, Anthony Cicero.
Family and friends are welcome to visit from 2pm-7pm at Rupp Funeral Home on Thursday March 9, 2023, where a funeral service celebrating Ella’s life will be held on Friday March 10, 2023 at 11am. Rev. Jacob Walker from True Gospel Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will immediately follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
The family would like to say a special “Thank You” to Susan Woodruff, Cheryl Edwards, and Paula Kostoff for all their wonderful loving care.
