Elizabeth A. Bodell

Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Bodell, age 94 of Monroe, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the ProMedica Regional Hospital of Monroe.
Born December 30, 1928, in Monroe. She was the daughter of the late Francis and Isabell (Straub) Conlisk. Betty was a 1946 graduate of St. Mary Academy. After school, she worked at Michigan Bell for a short time.
Betty married the love of her life: Bernard E. Bodell on May 10, 1949, at St. Michael Catholic Church. She became a loving homemaker to her husband and two sons growing up. They spent 65 wonderful years together before Bernard’s passing in 2014.
Betty was a long-time member of St. Michael Catholic Church of Monroe and was a part of the altar society. She was also a member of St. Vincent de Paul, Monroe Arts and Crafts League, and The Garden Club of Monroe. Betty participated in many area art exhibits and received many awards for her paintings. She also volunteered at the Thrift Shop in Monroe. In her free time, she could be found playing a game of golf.
Beloved mother of Brian (Penny) Bodell of Monroe. Loving grandmother of Shannon (Zell) Henderson, Heath (Rebecca) Bodell, Tyler Bodell, and Heidi Bodell. Great grandmother of Isabelle and Remy.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by husband: Bernard Bodell; son, Brad Bodell; brother, William Conlisk; and sister: Mary Jane Hatcher.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place with no services at this time. Interment of cremains will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park of LaSalle.
Memorial donations in honor of Betty are suggested to St. Michael Catholic Church.
