Elizabeth Cecile Lewis, age 76, of Monroe, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital.

Born December 21, 1947 in Toledo Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Elizabeth (Sheldon) Mahaney. Elizabeth attended and graduated from Ottowa Hills High School. She married Norman Box and together they raised three children. Elizabeth later married George E. Lewis and they enjoyed twenty years of marriage before his passing.

Elizabeth was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and friend. She was a very hard-working woman. For many years she worked for Midway Products in the payroll department. She was very attentive to her working family, so much so that they referred to her as their work mom.

In her spare time, she liked to read but most of all she loved spending time with her family. Elizabeth will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Beloved mother of Michael (Ruth) Moore, Russell Box, and Rachael Boismier. Loving grandmother of Glenn Morris. Great grandmother of Jayce and Maryah Sears. Dear sister of Russell Mahaney and Bob (Galong) Mahaney. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by husband: George Lewis; and grandson: Juston Sears.

Family and friends may gather at Rupp Funeral Home on Saturday, December 14, 2024 from 5 until 7 pm. A service in her honor will take place at 7 pm, with Rev. Larry Detruf officiating.
