Eileen Semonin, IHM

Sister Eileen Semonin, IHM, age 97, died Saturday, July 27, at her home, the IHM Senior Living Community.

Born Sept. 4, 1926, to Charles and Catherine (Schooley) Semonin. Graduated St. Mary High School, Akron, 1944. Entered Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, 1945.

Completed baccalaureate studies at Marygrove College. Early teaching at St. Boniface, Detroit; Our Lady of Lake Huron, Harbor Beach. Nursing studies completed through Nazareth College, Kalamazoo. Served as nurse, supervisor and director of nursing at St. Mary Infirmary.

Other ministry positions include Apopka, Florida’s Health Clinic, the West Orange Farm Clinic, Orange County Health Department; Family Medical Center, Temperance. Served IHM as provincial 1988-1994. Retired to the IHM Motherhouse in 2009.

Beloved sister of Charles, Mary McFarland (deceased) and Richard (deceased). Loving aunt to nieces and nephews.
